My highlights of 2014...

Started off 2014 seeing the musical Wicked twice at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre! I really cannot express how much I loved seeing this… I even got a little emotional both times!

The biggest highlight of my year was going on holiday to Disneyland over the summer. I absolutely loved every second of it and I never wanted to leave! Disneyland is just so magical and beautiful, I really was overwhelmed. We also took a day trip into Paris and saw most of the big tourist attractions. My favourite was Notre Dame Cathedral! It was incredible!

Having a girly spa night with my sister at Galgorm Resort & Spa. We ate, drank and of course spent a lot of time relaxing in the spa. I even had a wonderful massage treatment. I have never felt so tranquil or peaceful than when I was in Galgorm! It is so luxurious and it is just the perfect getaway retreat. I am already planning my next visit!

Seeing Michael Buble in concert for the 3rd time! If you didn't know already I am a huge fan of Michael, and I was delighted when it was announced he would be performing in the Odyssey Belfast, which is less than an hour's drive away for me. He sang beautifully as usual, and I had the greatest night. I even got to meet Naturally 7 after who perform with Michael.  It was the ultimate Christmas party!

Christmas of course is a highlight every year, and this year was fantastic. I had a good long break from work, received some lovely presents, spent some quality time with the family, and ate and drank lots of lovely things of course!

Happy 2015 everyone!

Neglected eyeshadow #3 MAC Pearlfusion "Pinkluxe" Palette

While looking through my stash at some pretty un-loved make up, I found this little palette which I have not used in ages! I bought this Pearlfusion Pinkluxe palette last January while I was shopping in Brown Thomas. I was so taken by the gorgeous shimmery pinks and that beautiful sparkly purple! But the truth is this little palette was a favourite of mine at the beginning but slowly made it's way to the bottom of my collection. It's time to resurrect it!

These eyeshadows go on very sheer, so I like to use them with a dampened brush and they look a lot more metallic and shimmery. For this look I used the middle pink shade and contoured and defined with the bottom two darker shades.

Do you like this eye make up? There is a lot more colour there than what I would usually wear, but I am so in love with the purple glittery shade! My only problem with them is that if I don't wear a good thick eye primer (Artdeco eyeshadow base usually does the trick) these eyeshadows really irritate my eyes!

I saw Michael Buble last night!

I just had the most fantastic night ever! I went to see Michael Buble in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast! Even though it was kind of a late night, I am awake so early this morning, purely because I am still on a high from last night! So I thought I would quickly blog about it!

I am a huge fan of Michael, this is my 3rd time seeing him live and I hope it won't be the last. He was absolutely on top form, despite being dosed with the cold he sang incredibly and put on the best show I could ever have imagined. I have never seen an artist interact with an audience the way Michael does. I think I will leave you with a few snaps I took last night!

The closest I got to meeting the real thing!

Anyway, it was a fantastic night and I had the best time ever. The ultimate Christmas party! Michael is truly a legend in my opinion. Let me know if you are a fan of Michael too!

Christmas Nails featuring Barry M & Max Factor!

I bought these 2 nail polishes while browsing in Superdrug one day… Actually I had been wanting to try the Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquers for a while, and I fell in love with this shade "Radiant Ruby". It's just a gorgeous, deep red. The gloss and finish of this polish is stunning. But I had to add a little bit of glitter! I could not resist the Barry M Nail Paint "Jingle Bells". This will definitely be my go-to nail polish this Christmas! It looks fantastic layered over Radiant Ruby!

It is a mix of little glitter strands, red flakes and gold glitter. But here and there are little holographic stars which are so cute and very festive!

Already I am planning to wear this nail polish combo on Christmas day!

My new skincare routine with La Roche Posay

My face was in seriously bad repair the last couple of months. I do believe that it was down to the Clarins One Step cleanser that I was using. I enjoyed using that cleanser at first but pretty soon it left my skin looking red and blotchy, and putting anything on my face made it sting!
I stopped using the Clarins One Step and tried some more gentler products, but my skin still looked rather irritated. I read that La Roche Posay would have products that would help with that, so off to the chemist I went!

I needed a little help, because I really did not know what I was after. I've only ever used La Roche Posay sun cream, so their skincare products are all new to me!

The sales assistant in the chemist helped me pick out a few things, after I told her what the problem was with my skin she recommended Toleraine cleanser and moisturiser. I also wanted to get some kind of exfoliator, as I had noticed a lot of dry skin around my nose. So I bought Physiological Ultra Fine Scrub as well!

Before

After

As you can see there is a substantial difference after just one week of using the La Roche Posay skincare! In fact, when I started using La Roche Posay, my skin looked even worse than it does in the "before" photo.

I cannot believe the difference! All of the La Roche Posay products that I got are absolutely fantastic. The cleanser is a lovely consistency, lotion type cleanser. The exfoliator is a gel-type consistency with very fine exfoliating beads. It has a nice sweet scent too. The moisturiser has almost a gel type consistency too. Only a tiny amount of the moisturiser is needed! I have to get used to only squeezing out a tiny dot, as the tiniest amount goes a long way.

Also La Roche Posay was a touch cheaper than the Clarins skincare products I had been using, which are a little expensive. I got the Toleraine moisturiser and cleanser, and the exfoliator for just over £30.00 in total. Not bad!

If these are the results I am getting after just one week, I will definitely be continuing my use of La Roche Posay and I wouldn't mind trying out more of their products!

Bargain Christmas False Nails from Primark

A couple of weeks ago I went to Primark and while I am not usually a fan of false nails, I saw that there was a huge selection of festive themed nails, and at only £1 per pack how could I resist? In fact I liked the sparkly snow scene nails so much that I picked up 2 sets of them!

I like these red ones that I got, but first I wanted to try out the sparkly blue ones!

They don't look too bad for only being £1! The only thing I will say about them is that the shapes and length of them are a little erratic. I couldn't find a decent sized one in the pack for my thumbs, and while the rest of my nails looked nice and long, I had to make do with a short, square thumb nail! Still, that is  a minor complaint I suppose!

It's hard for me to get used to wearing false nails, it has taken every effort to type this post up while wearing them, but of course they are perfect for over the Christmas season!

My Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year! I love giving (and receiving!) presents, and I have picked a few things that are a safe bet to buy, for your sisters, friends or work colleagues.

1. A Yankee Candle. I am a huge lover of Yankee Candles, and I do not know who wouldn't want to receive one as a gift! Their Christmas candles are a family favourite at Christmas time, and I really don't think Christmas would be the same without a lovely Yankee Candle!

2. A nice perfume! A perfume will always be well appreciated. I think most people tend to lean more towards more musky, woody scents in Winter. I have pictured Thierry Mugler Angel, which I did a review of here ! It is a lovely smokey scent, and the bottle also looks pretty festive!

3. A Lancome Mascara Set! If you want to buy a present of the cosmetic variety, a mascara is a great choice as you can't really go wrong. The Lancome sets are brilliant, as you get a little Crayon Kohl and Bi-Facil eye make up remover and are a great introduction to Lancome eye make up. I have pictured Doll Eyes, a fantastic mascara! But all of the Lancome mascaras are absolutely phenomenal in my opinion!

4. Make your own hamper! This is something that I like to do each year as I have a big family, it's nice to make up a hamper instead and there will be something in there for everybody. I love picking up bits and pieces from Marks and Spencers, they have brilliant things around Christmas and great offers too. I pick up a selection of sweets, mints, biscuits etc. and then I have fun wrapping them all up in a hamper!

I hope this post has maybe provided some inspiration! Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
